Featured Canadian Artist: Lisa Schmidt aka Pretty Little Messes

Lisa Schmidt aka Pretty Little Messes

Okay, Lisa now how can you call your
art blog: "Pretty Little Messes"?

Anyone that paints using fine vintage china and lace tablecloths can't possible be messy.

Ohh yes pretty, definitely! but certainly not messy.

Besides if you look at the pictures of her bead boxes, her beautiful family and the incredible design and visual she created for her daughter's Graduation.....
.......um there's no mess anywhere to be found on that blog.
She has a studio to make us all jealous,
Lisa please show us more pics.

Ohhhh now maybe that is where the mess is....
inside the studio......hmmmmm

that's okay we all love a little clutter anyway and we still want to see more pics inside!

You can see some of her incredible artwork
on her blog and in her photo albums

on her Flickr page, just follow the links on her blog.
It's all Pretty........and No mess.....

Thank-you for sharing Lisa, and
Happy Anniversary to Lisa and Mark!

Featured Canadian Artist: Maureen Blakeley aka Impawsibletoresist

Maureen Blakeley aka Impawsibletoresist My Blog:
I am a pet and wildlife artist. As well, I knit, crochet and sew. I love to make jewellry. I've worked in acrylic, watercolour, oil and silk. Recently, I've discovered joy in creating drawings in graphite (pencil). Working in pastel is my newest 'love'.

I was born to catch dragons in their dens/And pick flowers/To tell tales and laugh away the morning/To drift and dream like a lazy stream/And walk barefoot across sunshine days. - James Kavanaugh

Note from Kim:
Ohh just look at the banner, do you even need any more to know how beautiful her work is?
Her work is superb, I love all of her fur babies.
Check out her Etsy shop here: http://impawsibletoresist.etsy.com/

She is an artist, a blogger, a little bit techie.....yeah she wants a 3 column blog too! She even wrote about it on her blog, and if that is still not enough for you she's also a member of the Etsy hookers......Whaaaat?????....Ohhhhhh my!..........Hey!!! She knits okay?

And she can knit up a storm too!

Check out her mittens and knickers....hee hee no....not "Her" knickers, but her miniature doll knit knickers on Etsy. (Hey now here's a fun catch phrase for Maureen to use: "Don't get your Knit Knickers in a Knot!")
Maureen thank-you for sharing!

Featured Canadian Artist: Lori aka Beneath the Rowan Tree

Eclectic may be the word. Lots of stuff says it better~ motherhood, business news and features, natural toys, childhood, art, technical stuff, small town life, shopping. Reflections on life, art and parenting in the midst of the beautiful chaos.

Note from Kim:
When I first met Lori on Flickr I was drawn instantly to her use of vibrant colors. She creates beautiful play silks for children to play with, I know I would have mountains of fun playing with and finding comfort in these beautiful scarves.
Then I met the "Fairy" side of Lori. She says she doesn't really believe in fairies, but who is she kidding? Only a fairy expert and believer would know about fairy doors and little whispers......

Check out her blog, it takes you to wonderful places including right into her heart.
After reading the little tidbits about her life and family, I wanna be her next door neighbor...

While you are there, be sure to check out her Etsy shop
filled with lovely handmade gifts to encourage play and vivid imagination for little people, big people, and little people wannabees! :)

Featured Canadian Artist: Eve Nielsen

Creative Explosions

aka Eve Nielsen

What a perfect name for her blog and many shops. This gal is just bursting with creative talent.
It doesn't matter if you like to buy the finished product or the supplies to make it yourself, she's got it covered. My personal favorite is her Etsy shop of buttons called: Button Jars
Her hair pieces and brooches are so light and delightful with feathers and beautiful trimmings!
My shopping wish list is already very long! Bring your coffee and a snack to read her blog, she's got a lot of links to her shops, and you're gonna be awhile! Oh what fun!
